Digital blood pressure record for insured members

High blood pressure is one of the most common - and unfortunately also one of the most dangerous - conditions worldwide. With the right treatment, however, blood pressure can often be brought back into the normal range. Reliable data are the basis for this. For that reason, the R+V Betriebskrankenkasse has launched a pilot project with the Schwabach-based provider of the digital solution Tensana: Newly enrolled users of various disease management programs can use the premium version of the digital blood pressure record free of charge from mid-October - helping them support their treating physician.

For patients with high blood pressure, early and individually tailored treatment is essential. Values from regular self-measurements help doctors make the right decisions. The digital blood pressure record from Tensana takes this data foundation to a new level: the treating physician receives not just individual measurement results, but meaningful charts and statistics. And for the user, everything is handled easily via computer, phone or tablet thanks to the user-friendly app. The R+V Betriebskrankenkasse now wants to offer this advantage to its insured members in a pilot project. The BKK hopes to gain additional experience with digital offerings as part of preventive care programs.

Initially, newly enrolled participants in various disease management programs of the R+V BKK can use the offer. They download the digital blood pressure record from the relevant app store and activate the premium version to participate in the pilot project using a code valid until the end of 2018. All data can then be conveniently recorded via the relevant device, for example blood pressure, pulse and other parameters. All content available to users has been professionally reviewed. Personal data are protected. No third parties, including the health insurance fund, have access to them. After the pilot project ends, the cooperation partners will decide whether to promote the digital blood pressure record among all insured members - and thus create a broader basis for the prevention and treatment of conditions related to high blood pressure.

Use was and remains free, but was supported by voluntary donations from an early stage. Tensana then developed this into a subscription model with premium features.
