Easily record and analyze your own blood pressure readings anywhereThe “Blutdruckdaten.de” website offers a solution for all patients with high blood pressure: Whether online or via the app, anyone can now enter and analyze their own data at any time, completely free of charge and with maximum convenience. Although home monitors measure the readings quickly and anywhere, documenting and analyzing them on paper or with spreadsheet software had previously been laborious.
According to the “German Green Cross,” around 12 million people in Germany alone are affected by high blood pressure. In addition to sleep disorders and breathing problems, heart attacks and strokes, among the most common causes of death, are particularly feared consequences. Horst Klier, operator of the “Blutdruckdaten.de” website, previously had high blood pressure himself and still regularly measures his readings. Because he found analyzing them on paper and even with spreadsheet software too inconvenient, he decided to take action and quickly developed software for recording and analyzing blood pressure readings. The data can not only be recorded but also analyzed immediately, either online using a browser or via an app on mobile devices such as Android smartphones or the iPhone. “I wanted a solution that was flexible, easy to use and, above all, free of charge. The analyses are informative and make the doctor’s work much easier,” says Horst Klier, explaining his motivation.
Anyone interested can register at www.Blutdruckdaten.de completely free of charge. For data protection reasons, no personal data is collected. A user-defined username and an email address are all that is needed to register. After logging in, data can be recorded at any time with minute-by-minute accuracy and viewed as charts or statistics. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse and a comment are recorded. On request, users receive a detailed analysis as a PDF that can be shown to their attending doctor. It is even possible to import readings previously recorded in spreadsheet software.
