The free mobile app “Blood Pressure Data” has already been downloaded well over 500,000 times. It helps users monitor their blood pressure. The data can be recorded, analyzed and exported as a PDF for their doctor. In addition to a new interface, the new version 5.0 includes interesting features such as medication management, a blood pressure encyclopedia, a blood pressure calculator, a body mass calculation and a salt calculator.

High blood pressure is becoming increasingly widespread. If it is not detected and treated in time, it can have serious health consequences.

The free mobile app “Blood Pressure Data” helps users monitor their blood pressure regularly. Horst Klier's app records systolic and diastolic blood pressure together with the current pulse. When entered, the data are given a date and time stamp.

Users can also record additional vital signs if they wish, including their weight, blood glucose level, body temperature and fluid balance (especially for people with chronic kidney disease, for example after a transplant).

The app can also use the figures to generate a colorful line chart. The data and chart can be exported as a PDF for sharing with the doctor. A printed report of the recorded data can be taken to the doctor.

Unique: “Blood Pressure Data” is available for numerous mobile systems. The new version 5.0 has already been released for Android, Amazon Kindle and Windows Phone. The universal app for iPhone and iPad is also already available. Further app updates for Windows RT/8 and Firefox OS will be released soon.

After a brief registration in the system, the app can also synchronize its data across platforms and even display them on the website, making them accessible on any desktop computer.

“Blood Pressure Data” 5.0: Many new modules
The new version 5.0, which remains completely free, adds many high-quality modules to the “Blood Pressure Data” app:

- Medication management: Users who need to take medication to control their blood pressure can now record it in the app. A display always shows how long their current supply will last.

- Blood pressure encyclopedia: There are many interesting facts about blood pressure that everyone should know. The new encyclopedia provides readers with useful information and offers the most important facts for reference.

- Blood pressure calculator: This module assesses the user's blood pressure and classifies it according to the guidelines of the WHO/German Hypertension League. This allows every user to see how concerning their blood pressure is considered to be.

- Body mass index calculator: Weight and height – the app uses just a few data points to calculate the user's body mass index. This is important because excess weight contributes to high blood pressure. The BMI can also be displayed in a 3D view.

- Salt calculator: Too much salt in food can also cause blood pressure to rise. The new salt calculator calculates the salt content of ready-made meals and mineral water.
