Upper-arm blood pressure monitor

A classic blood pressure monitor consists of an upper-arm cuff with a rubber bulb and a pressure gauge. The cuff is placed on the upper arm while you are at rest and then inflated. This allows blood pressure to be determined quickly and reliably. Today, digital upper-arm monitors are commonly used; they measure blood pressure and pulse fully automatically. Many people own these digital devices because they are very easy to use and often inexpensive. Here too, a cuff is placed on the upper arm. However, inflating the cuff-as with the entire measurement process-happens automatically. The readings are shown on an easy-to-read display. It is important that the upper-arm cuff is neither too large nor too small, as this could distort the measurement and produce inaccurate results.
An upper-arm blood pressure monitor, whether traditional or digital, is of course available in every doctor's office. It can also be purchased for home use. Depending on your needs and the price range, blood pressure monitors provide information about your pulse and blood pressure and can, for example, detect heart rhythm disturbances. Modern upper-arm monitors send the data via Bluetooth to an app. Some devices can transmit the readings directly to the Tensana app.
