Transfer data
Some of our users create multiple accounts for the same person. It usually makes sense to consolidate the data into one account. This is quite easy to do using the import/export function. Here we explain how you can merge the accounts.
Important note: Medication entries will not be transferred.
Warning: Please merge only accounts that contain data for the same person. If accounts belonging to different people are merged, the data will be irreversibly mixed. As a result, it will no longer be possible to identify which data belongs to which person, and the statistics and averages will become entirely meaningless.
1. Export source data
- Log in to the user account whose data you want to transfer (source account).
- Set the period for which you want to transfer the data.
- Select "Import/Export" from the menu.
- Scroll down and click "Export as CSV".
Depending on your device, operating system, and installed apps, different options may now be displayed. It is important that the file is saved as a CSV file and that you can access it again for the import.
iOS:
- A prompt opens asking, "Would you like to download export-YYYYMMDD_HHMM.csv?" where YYYYMMDD and HHMM indicate the current date and time.
- Select "Download" to save the file and view it in the browser.
- You can switch directly back to the Tensana app by tapping the small "Tensana" at the top left.
- The file is saved under "Downloads".
Android:
- The file name is bdd-export_[date-from]-[date-to].csv.
- Open the file in "Sheets"
- Open the menu (the 3 dots) in the top right.
- Select "Share & export" and "Save as" (on older devices, "Make a copy"). Save the CSV file to "Downloads" on the device.
- The file name must still have the extension "csv".
Web:
- Save the file on your PC/Mac.
2. Import data
- Log in to the user account into which you want to import the data (target account).
- Select "Import/Export" from the menu.
- Click "Choose file" under "Import a CSV file".
- Now select the previously exported file. The procedure may vary depending on the device and operating system.
iOS:
- You will see a prompt where you can take a photo or video, open the photo library, or select "Browse". Select "Browse".
- Normally, "Recents" is already open, and the most recent file is the export file. Select it.
- Tap "Import file" in the Tensana app.
Android:
- You will usually see the most recently used files straight away. The export file should appear first. If not, look in the "Downloads" folder.
- Select the file.
- Click "Import file" in the Tensana app.
Web:
- Select the previously saved file.
- Click "Import file" in the Tensana app.
3. Delete old account
- Check that all the data in the target account is present as expected. To do this, set the period to be displayed so that the imported data, including any older data, is visible.
- Then log back in to the source account.
- In the menu, select "User account" and then "Manage user account".
- Select "Delete user" and confirm.
