Import and Export

Importing existing data is possible, and you can also export data in CSV format.

In the app, you can import data from the Withings online portal. You'll find this option in the menu under Import/Export. 

On iOS devices that support it, there is also an interface to the Apple Health app in the Import/Export menu. 

On Android devices that support it, you'll also find an interface to Google's Health Connect app under Import/Export.

CSV stands for "comma-separated values." That means the values are stored as plain text and separated by commas. Sometimes semicolons are used, and values are often enclosed in quotation marks. That can be useful when the entries themselves contain commas. For example, weight is sometimes written using a comma as the decimal separator. The first line contains the column headers.

An example:

When exporting from the mobile app, your device must have an app that can open a CSV file.

When using the web app in a browser, it is best not to open the exported file, especially in Excel, as this automatically changes the format. If manual changes are absolutely necessary, please use simple text programs such as Notepad or a text editor.

Our import supports importing all fields, including weight and temperature. The column header tells the import which value the column contains. The importer checks all columns for known headers. Recognized headers are then checked against every row to see whether that row can be imported. Before the actual import starts, this information is displayed and any unknown column headers are listed. We accept a variety of header names. 

For Ignore and Arrhythmia we only read yes/no values. We accept as
Yes: 1, x, y, yes, j, Ja

No: 0, n, no, n, nein 

Date and time are always required. All other columns are optional.
